I know what I’m doing tomorrow – Friday night – at 9pm. I will be behind my computer, on Facebook, to set up my own vanity URL. Indeed, Facebook is finally allowing users to get their own usernames.
The following is a discussion I started in the San Diego Business group on LinkedIn. So far, no one commented on it so I guess people still don’t get it. I though it was an interesting write so I decided to post it on my blog as well.
Something that freaks me out more than anything online is seeing some of my websites or pages disappearing from Google’s index from time to time. There is generally a good reason for that to happen and troubleshooting the issue quickly and thoroughly can help you save tons of “leaking traffic”. I had a similar problem over the weekend. Let me tell you what happened and how I fixed it.
A few months ago, I finally took the the plunge by quitting my full time job in order to focus 100% on my internet business, and so far, I have to admit it is the best decision I ever made: I don’t have anyone to report to anymore; I don’t have a schedule; I do what I want; and I can work from anywhere in the world. The best is, I make about as much (maybe more) than I did in my full time job. Looks great on the paper, doesn’t it? But is it as great as it seems to be?
If you use Google Analytics to track your websites stats, you have probably realized that Google doesn’t let you see the full URL of the sites referring traffic to you. That’s a basic feature that somehow is not included in GA but fortunately for us, there is a simple trick you can implement to display the full URL of the referring site.
I want to talk to you about how I am extending one of my products to different niches. By the way, this post is for people interested in web/affiliate marketing. If you’re not into it, you will find this post worthless.
1001 Twitter users who follow back
People like to pretend they don’t care how many followers they have, but more often than not, they’re not being completely honest. We all care how many Twitter followers we have. It’s an ego thing.
If you got to this page, it’s because you do care and you’re most likely trying to increase your amount of followers, and I want you to know it’s ok, as long as you understand Twitter isn’t so much about how many followers you have, but rather how much reach you have. You can have 1 million followers but it doesn’t do you any good if these people don’t interact with you or your tweets in any way.
This being said, adding these 1001 Twitter users who will follow back will not do you much good because they are not genuinely interested in your tweets. They mostly want to collect massive amounts of followers. Some of them might auto-follow back, some of might take a while to follow you.
How to get more Twitter followers? Start following these people!
Do You Want to Be Added to This List?
Because I’m receiving so many emails asking me to add people to this list, I decided to make this a paid service. If you want to be added to this list, PayPal me $10 and I will add you to the top of the list. This list gets hundreds of visits a day so if you want to get a bunch of new followers for cheap, that is your best bet!

DoshDosh posted a really good article today titled “6 fool-proof steps to make more money with your website“. I suggest you read this article as it is a gold mine of clever ideas. While everything in his post completely makes sense, I actually hadn’t really thought about it before. The point of the article is to show you how to optimize your high traffic pages to generate sales or subscriptions. Right after reading DoshDosh’s article, I implemented some of his advice on one of my sites. Here is what I did.
A little over 2 years ago, I started a website called iPod Media Selection on which I wanted to sell iPod softwares through affiliate programs. It did pretty well for a while because I was marketing the hell out of it, mostly by spamming forums and blogs. I soon got tired of playing the cat and mouse game with forums so I completely stopped marketing it. Then came the iPhone…
Open Source, Here I Am!
Yesterday I bought a brand new netbook (a Lenovo Ideapad S10) to bring with me when I travel. I was a little annoyed that it didn’t come fully equipped with Microsoft Office. I’ve been an Office user since the day I had my first PC (yes, I’m a PC) and never really thought there would be free and reliable alternatives to this Microsoft best-seller. Then I googled the term “office open source” and found a site that’s most likely going to change forever my “relationship” with softwares…
